When I’m busy taking these step by step photos, H gets 2 slices of toast and a jar of peanut butter for a self help breakfast. I have recently started using my moka pot again and its a great cheap way of having cafe quality latte in your own home
Fill the base of the pot with water. The espresso is made quicker if you put in boiling water.
Place the funnel in the pot and fill with coffee grinds. I used “moka coffee” by Bialetti that I bought from the Takashimaya counter
Place the pot on the stovetop and wait till the water boils, about 5 mins. The top compartment of the pot starts to fill with freshly brewed espresso.
Froth the milk using this technique.

Wow, home-made latte! It looks impressive. Who needs cafe when you can just lounge at the comforts of your home with freshly brewed coffee looking that good!
And you don’t need to pay $5 for a cup too!
So this is how frothing is done at home! Really easy. My hub makes his coffee like this every weekday. Really takes my hat off him. But then coffee is his first, err.. no, second love.
didally: does your hubby use the moka pot too??
Hate to adnut it, but Starbucks got me addicted. However, since retirement, $10+ a day for coffee, that’s a quad venti latte twice a day, seems a bit much. So now I’ve gotten accustomed to my own homemade latte and about an hour of morning quite time. This is great as long as I am home. But the missus and I have recently taken up traveling with a trailer. I take my latte machine with me, but electricity is not always available so I was looking at stovetop espresso machines. The espresso machinettas themselves can be relatively inexpensive, relative being whatever one finds in his wallet, but add the milk frothers and they get pretty costly. This idea for the shaken milk frothing method just may be the answer to my problem. I will be trying this method tomorrow morning and
THANKS FOR THE TIP!
