I will not be cooking for a while, so I’m digging up some backdated photos and will be posting them up in the next few posts. Many many things have been happening, forgive me if I fail to post often.
I am a huge fan of foodbeam and have been reading what Fanny has been up to for years. She’s a really cute French girl. This is the first recipe I’m trying as its so simple. All I needed was a bowl and a wooden spoon. I used lemon instead of grapefruit and steeped a scraped vanilla pod in the lemon juice and sweetened it to make a syrup which I soaked the cake in.
Served with a dollop of sweetened yogurt and a cashew.
This is one of my new silicon moulds. Its really shallow though so it can only bake cookies or flat little patty cakes.

I love lemon cake. And adding yogurt to baked goods makes them so moist.
This looks delish!
Pat: Yogurt is a magic ingredient, it also adds more tang to the cake n makes it taste more lemony.
Very nice – cute little cakes
Is everything OK? I hope that you are “just” going to be too busy to cook, or the kitchen is being redecorated, something like that.
Take care *hug*
I think flat cake looks fine. Mind sharing where u get your vanilla pods? It’s quite costly here in Sg.
rosie: thanks for the hug
I needed it!
Didally: i got mine quite cheap in Bali, you can get it from Phoon Huat for $3.50 for 3 beans or at Mustafa for $2.20 for 2 beans.
Hey sweetie, I dropped by and realised you baked a yogurt cake as well! But mine’s a couple of days late. I had initially wanted to bake a lemon yogurt cake, but ran out of lemons (or any citrus fruits for that matter), so I made mine pomegranate instead.
I love how cute yours look
