Eating steamed corn in the garden and chatting with mom-in-law.
A pineapple poking out from a bush in our garden. I love how the stem looks almost blue.
A jungle of pandan
Betel leaves creeping up our back wall
Our banana tree.. The stem of the flower looks a little extra terrestial don’t you think?

Beautiful array of trees/plants you have in your garden! And I don’t believe I’ve ever seen a banana tree in that extra-terrestrial a way before, now that you’ve mentioned it. Haha.
omg, that’s a LOT of pandan!! lolz
beautiful garden!
I heard betel leaves have lots of medicinal benefits. My MIL swears by it!
I remember landing in our hotel in Phuket and there being a banana tree flower in the courtyard - I cried… it was so beautiful and looked so “tropical”.
Can you please send me 10kg of pandan plants straight away?
just joking; I cannot buy a plant to grow here for love or money. Maybe it wouldn’t grow here in Adelaide if I could find one. I have to make do with the frozen leaves.
Such a beautiful garden
ovenhaven: the stem looked freaky!
nisa: my great grandma used to eat “sireh”, it was so fascinating the things she added to it and how she rolled it up. I know it is also traditionally used to stop nose bleeds, pounded into a paste for bruises and I’m sure a lot more!
rosie: I dont see why it won’t grow.. Maybe u can smuggle one plant over when u come down in Dec, it is very hardy u know, it grows like a weed.
